AN ITALIAN NEOCLASSICAL GILTWOOD TRUMEAU MIRROR, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY,

the crest centering a high relief bunch of grapes and leaves, over adorsed acanthine rinceaux scrolls, flanking an oval frame mounted with a painted scene of four cherubic enfants among clouds, each holding attributes of the seasons, after Jacob de Wit (Dutch 1695-1754), over a bead chain carved, rectangular frame, bisected by molding, now fitted with two mirrors.

Condition:

Some antique repairs, now mounted to later pine back, later gilt inpainting, some losses, heavy exposure to woodworm, overall in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
