hand-colored lithograph on paper, titled "America," above "Dono," and the encyclopedic title, attributed as one of seven folding maps found in the thirty-seven volume Il Costume Antico e Moderno by Giulio Ferrario, dated in title, 1832, showing the western hemisphere, the "Stati Uniti," including a large "Oregon Territory," extending extremely north to the 49th parallel is outlined in red and blue, Texas outlined only by major rivers and not a state at the time still found within the borders of "Messico," the somewhat elusive port of New Orleans is in "Luigiana," and the tip of South America, "Arc di Magellano," protrudes past the border measured for map projection, overlaid with partial matrix, a scale in lower left. Sheet: 15 1/8" x 20 5/8"


Creases, some minor tears at edges, trimmed areas in margin, yellowing, a few foxing spots, good hand coloring, a lovely map, and overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
