AN ANTIQUE FRENCH SILVERPLATED METAL JEWELRY CASKET, FOR SPANISH MARKET, SIGNED, LAST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY,

the rectangular hinged lid enclosing an intricately detailed plaque cast in relief centering a Spanish bull fight with a Picador on horseback rearing above the charging bull, facing the Matador flanked by a Banderillo and a Monosabio, performing within a walled arena before a large audience flanking a royal enclosure and distant church steeples amidst various structures, framed by a beaded line within continuous ovule banding and opening to a blue silk tufted interior, enclosed by equally detailed exterior side plaques representing days in the life of the Spanish people, above a leaf tip modeled plinth raised on toupie feet, verso impressed "B" and a cross form symbol. Height: 6" Width: 8 1/4" Depth: 5 1/2"    

Condition:

Good condition overall with expected areas of tarnish, some tiny dings and light scratches from use as well as a few surface blemishes.
