A THREE PIECE LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE MANTLE CLOCK AND CANDELABRA GARNITURE, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY,

the flowering topped urn finial flanked by griffin head scrolls over a drum form clock case mounted with side leafy lion masks suspending ring handles, above a beaded and berried laurel wreath cast bezel with beveled glass opening to a circular dial with white enamel shield form plaques centering blue Roman hour numerals, enclosing a relief cast foliate face with dual key escapements and blued steel hands, supported by a foliate lattice laurel and berry swag draped spreading rectangular base ending in scrolling acanthus modeled feet, raised on a conforming plinth with turret form stop fluted legs on circular feet joined by an acanthus leaf detailed serpentine apron, verso the clockworks numbered 2912 and 5-8, the dome bell stamped "H.F.," and door hand-etched "79", height: 22 1/4" width: 14 1/2", depth: 8"; together with a pair of matching six-light candelabras, height: 22 3/4" diameter: 11".

Provenance:Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.

Condition:

Some dust and surface wear, rubbed gilding, some patina spots, and darkened areas. The candelabras with some loosened segments, slight bends, surface buildup and expected wear, overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
