A PAIR OF BELLE ÉPOQUE ORMOLU MOUNTED CHINESE PORCELAIN FIVE LIGHT CANDELABRA,

each fitted with a blossoming lily stems and groundwork gilt mount, within a Chinese Daoguang Period famille rose gu porcelain vase with a flaring rim surmounted by a grape leaf and cluster cast bronze, above sides depicting an auspicious bird resting on large boulders amidst flowering carnation stems and other sacred foliage beneath a lone fluttering butterfly, over a short flaring foot centering a band of stylized iron-red scrolling ruyi, enclosed by an acorn and oakleaf bronze wreath raised on a square form plinth with canted corners and mille raies detailed sides. Height: 16 1/4" Diameter: 7"    

Provenance:Private Collection, Galveston, Texas.

Condition:

Each porcelain vase has surface buildup, restored areas from rims to down the sides unevenly, areas of overpainting, rim chips, and each has been drilled for electricity. The bronze mounts are in good shape with expected surface buildup and small oxidized spots scattered throughout.
