A LOUIS XVI STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED BLEU TURQUIN MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK, BY RAINGO FRÈRES, PARIS, 19TH CENTURY,

the neoclassical lidded two handled urn on a berried laurel trimmed socle and a molded rectangular cornice, above a leaf tip cast encadrement and conforming vertical case with corner floral spray spandrels mounts opposite a crisply detailed mount of entwined berried laurel branches centering a stylized floret, beneath a circular ribbon wrapped rod bezel surrounding a white enameled dial with deep blue Roman hour chapters and black Arabic five minute numerals, enclosing reticulated blued steel hands over twin key escapements and signed "Raingo Fres/Paris," reversing to brass wheel and hammer strike bell before a cover numbered "1329 / 64," and stamped with a circular Japy Frères pastille, flanked by fluted pilasters on a semi-circular berried laurel trimmed base and surmounted by bud form finials, raised on a conforming shaped rectangular plinth with a frieze centering a nicely cast scrolling and blossoming acanthus stemmed mount over berried laurel ringed toupie feet. Condition:

Overall good condition with slight surface buildup in crevices throughout and the enameled dial has a small repair on the 45. The works appear clean and include the pendulum (numbered 2524) but Simpson Galleries does not guarantee clock works nor any timepieces.
